After thoughtful consideration, I’m proud to announce that I am filing to run for House District 33 as a candidate for the Colorado General Assembly for the 2026 election cycle.
I will need your support to get the nomination for this important race!
I believe I am the best candidate to be an effective voice and representative of Adams, Broomfield and Weld counties. I have over 5 and a half years experience as a state employee to the State of Colorado, including the immense privilege of working under the Capitol to Colorado’s 50th Lieutenant Governor, Dianne Primavera. In my current capacity as Broomfield City Council member, I work to bring income-aligned housing, maintain effective local governance during unprecedented times, and provide crucial services to my community.
My parents were refugees from the Vietnam War and I was born and raised here in Colorado. I grew up in a broken family; my family still carries much of the generational trauma of the war. I’m the first in my family to graduate with a college degree and the first to obtain a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) degree at the University of Colorado Denver. I have the knowledge and expertise to be an effective policy leader in our community.
Throughout my adult life, I’ve been a dedicated public servant. From my service in philanthropic organizations like AmeriCorps and the “I Have a Dream” Foundation, to my tenure as a state employee; I am honored to serve and I hope I can continue to serve. I pledge that if I receive the nomination, I will continue to fight for more affordable housing, public transit, to make a Colorado for all, and to be your voice at the State Capitol.
Additionally, I’m proud to announce a slate of endorsements and support from local, state, and community leaders and elected officials. I’m humbled and thankful for the people who believe in me and I hope to get your support. I especially want to highlight the numerous Colorado Asian American leaders who have already joined my campaign. The reality is that there is not a single Asian American representative in our state assembly, let alone in much of our state government. Asian Americans have been severely underrepresented in the political environment. Yet, when I reached out to the community, many immediately agreed to endorse and support me. This growing list is only a small number of people that have publicly endorsed me and for that, I’m deeply thankful.
If you feel moved or motivated after reading all of this, I encourage you to also join the growing list. Please feel free to reach out to me to include your name on the list of endorsements to support this campaign.
And if not, I’d be grateful for any financial contributions to my campaign and/or even a share of this post to reach the community.
Thank you and let’s get this done!
